Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Members Day 2023

1. The Annual Members’ Day for the Lincolnshire’s Lancaster Association (LLA) and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Club will be held on Saturday 30th September 2023 at RAF Coningsby, the home of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF).

2. For safety and insurance purposes, there is a limit to the overall number of people who can be on site for the event, which includes members, vendors and BBMF/RAF Coningsby staff.

3. 2,500 tickets are available in total and entry will be on a ticket only basis. 1250 tickets will be available to LLA members, and 1250 tickets will be available to BBMF Official Club members. Car parking tickets will also need to be booked in advance, however car parking is free of charge.

4. The 2023 ticket price will be £10, which is an increase on previous years due to rising equipment hire and administrative costs. This years’ event will also be supporting The Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance which is a registered charity.

5. Tickets can only be purchased by a member of either the LLA or BBMF Official Club, however each member can purchase one additional ticket. Additional ticketholders do not need to be members to attend, however they must attend with the member who purchased the ticket.

6. Children must have a paid for ticket to attend Members' Day. Each Club member can purchase two tickets in total, that includes any tickets for children. Please note, the event is not suitable for children under five.

7. Membership Cards and Photo I.D. are required for entry. Acceptable forms of ID include a Passport or Driving Licence.

8. In a change from previous years for members of the Lincolnshire’s Lancaster Association, all ticket applications must be made online. Neither the LLA or BBMF Official Club will be able to accept cheques, cash or card payments.

9. As we are unable to operate Members Day in the event of inclement weather, a judgement call will be made and communicated to ticket holders no later than Thursday 28th September. Should the event not go ahead, we will not be able to refund for tickets as we will have already booked and paid for the event infrastructure, however any remaining funds will still go to our chosen charity.

ON THE DAY

Gates to the event open at 10.00am.

The flying display will be dependent on weather conditions and aircraft serviceability.

Please ensure that your LLA or BBMF Official Club membership is in date and bring your tickets - either printed or as an E-ticket on a mobile device, membership card and photo ID with you, as tickets will be scanned on entry and ID will be checked by a member of the team.

Tickets and ID are required for all attendees, regardless of age.

Parking must be pre-booked in advance to enable the event organisers and parking management company to ensure there is enough car parking available for attendees. Blue badge holders may book a disabled car parking space and are to follow the disabled parking signage in the village on the day – blue badges and proof of the parking booking will be required for entry to the disabled car park. Entry via Dogdyke Road is for disabled access only, therefore please do not use this entrance as a drop-off area.

There is no entry on foot onto RAF Coningsby, with the exception of those who have booked disabled access.

A park and ride scheme will be operating from the main car park to the BBMF Hangar. The first bus will depart from the car park at 09.30am, and the last bus departing BBMF will be at 16.30pm. The flying display will conclude by 15.00pm and therefore we do politely request that attendees start to make their way to buses at this point to ensure there is plenty of time to on-board all attendees before the last bus.

Buses will be running throughout the day should you need to return to your vehicle, or leave site early, however they may run at a lesser frequency during the flying display.

There is no cycle storage provided in the main car park.

Electric wheelchairs and electric scooters are not allowed in the BBMF hangar.

There is very limited seating available at RAF Coningsby, however attendees are welcome to bring seating such as camping chairs.

Dogs are not allowed at the event, except for assistance dogs or service dogs. Please do not leave dogs in cars as this will be reported via the parking management company and you will be asked to return to your vehicle with no re-admittance.

RAF Coningsby is a strict no smoking or vaping site.

Food and drink is available to purchase from the vendors on site.

Cameras are allowed.

Toilet facilities are provided on site.

Please dispose of your litter in the bins provided as litter can cause serious danger to aircraft.
